Passport DC cultural events

10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 2 & May 9, Embassy Row, Washington, DC

This May, Washington, DC's Passport DC festival turns Embassy Row into a free, family-friendly tour of the world — no passport required. On May 2, the Around the World Embassy Tour invites families to explore the food, art, dance, fashion and music of countries across the globe, with past highlights including karate demonstrations, sari wrapping lessons and live dance performances. Then on May 9, the EU Open House opens the doors of European Union embassies for a second weekend of cultural discovery, from Ireland and Italy to Spain and Slovakia. Well, almost. According to the DC Public School's calendar, Thursday, June 18, will be the last day of school for students. Virginia's public schools generally wrap up their academic year in late May or early June, with most major school divisions finishing around June 17-18, 2026 — though exact dates differ by district.
